For those getting the white screen on startup, try using one of my unreal engine wrappers, such as Mirrors Edge or Lost Planet 3. As for those who get the awc.dll load error, I believe you'll need to use a different NoCD crack.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I ended up just playing this game in parallels... works perfectly there for me. Gamepad rumble, 3D sound and everything.

Wow, it just wont run at all for you will it Blackcatzchen? what crack are you using, because i remember it would run with skidrow but it had issues crashing until i also installed theta over that. (this is in windows of course) Curse EAs DRM, it gets in the way so much.

im no expert in coding so i don't think id be very useful, i'm simply a devout fan with a wine engine.

sorry about the double post btw, was having some issues with the editor (wow, im not helping my case here)
In any case, good luck porting the madness.

I highly doubt anyone is doing a native port at home. It's not like EA would give away the source code for free. Also, one can't just take the assets for a native game and substitute them for another. Also, if that person where a real developer who ports games natively that person would be under an NDA.

I originally ran the Skidrow over Parallels with occasional "you have a tampered version" crashes to desktop (in a game with save points this got really frustrating as some of the gaps between save points are huge). Bought a hard copy of the game, uninstalled Skidrow, REFUSED TO LAUNCH, so it can't be a DRM issue as I had the disk right there. Reinstalled Skidrow. But it's still laggy at key moments, so I'm still on level one!
Would really like to see if a ported version would work better? :(

Edit: Installed MacPorts...and am now stuck.

Bought Alice on steam, and checked the community hub, it seems that the cracks were actually ment to fix the AWC.dll load error as the error is common on PCs, the cracks on the other hand as we know does not help us, perhaps I Cider wrapper is needed as the cracks does not fix the AWC.dll error in wine.

Sucks that this game has proven so hard to get working that it has come to a stand still...

Still no progress, by 2017?  What about running it in a VirtualBox with Windows 7?  Or does that also fail due to some driver virtualization problem?

well, it isn't simple, this game appears to be very buggy by itself (within Windows)
, besides this there needs to exist a proper solution to authorize the game, or rather a work-a-round since most game DRM doesn't properly function in Wine. So these two things makes it a real challenge to create a working wrapper. simply put, if the game won't run, you can't test the wrapper at all.

I would love to help with this... I own the game on Origin and would love to see it ported to Mac. How do I go about this?

It seems that Origin on Mac through Wine requires a memory slot to run Alice Madness Returns that is currently in use with MacOS by default. The only way to get this running is by compiling wine with a special patch. Apparently the Wine devs believe that that the fix has been implemented in recent releases of Wine as of late June however I have yet to get this game running correctly regardless of the gold ratings.

With these advises, I make a wrapper that pass the "pre-loader test"... But my version of "Alice" don't work either.
