Hi All, has anyone managed to get Sleeping Dogs to work on the mac...? I would love to scratch my GTA itch with this game until GTA V comes out. I have tried setting it up in Wine but i've had no luck. this is the error log:

fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x0 1 0x0 0

fixme:process:SetProcessDEPPolicy (1): stub

fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x0 1 0x0 0

fixme:process:SetProcessShutdownParameters (00000380, 00000000): partial stub.

err:module:import_dll Library d3d11.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\Square Enix\\Sleeping Dogs\\HKShip.exe") not found

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\Square Enix\\Sleeping Dogs\\HKShip.exe" failed, status c0000135

If anyone has some pointers i would really appreciate it.

Cheers

Well, it looks like Sleeping dogs is unportable in the moment. As far as I know it use dx11 only and wine don't support dx11 yet.

While bootcamp is the best way to run windows on mac, we are currently trying to run windows applications without restarting or using a virtual desktop.  That means, hmtinc, that just "use bootcamp, problem solved", is not a very good reply for this topic.

Well, but in the moment hmtinc's solution is the only working one, so his argument is valid in the moment ;)

Using Windows (aka Bootcamp) is not "problem solved"  its basically the same answer of "just play on a PC!" ...  If that was a valid answer we could change the landing page of the website to "Use Bootcamp!" and close down the rest of the website.

Well no we'd need more explanation, because Bootcamp cannot run any games at all... and "Use Bootcamp" isn't ever a valid answer even though people say it, because i could "Use Bootcamp!" and install Linux with it and not Windows.

I think you mean "Virtual Machine" not "virtual desktop"  not the same thing.

If anyone is wondering, Sleeping Dogs also runs on DX10...

But I guess that doesn't really help because we're stuck on DX9. :P
