It seems you still haven't taken the game files out of the wrapper.  Thus, the cider wrapper is relying on certain files that are needed to run the intended game, psychonauts. Take out the game files and the command lines of the game from the info.plist.  Even then, I don't know if it will work.

Is there a working port? The rating is gold and the notes say it runs and installs. What problems are there so far. I am about to buy the game, wondering what to expect

These are memory calls not direct file calls .. it's propabably even all the same file (also just cider doesnt open up if you have your info.plist/file dependencies wrong) - what I don't get is why, when I try to use windows->system32 files from a wine wrapper .. it just stops working altogether.

Well that's for Linux and doesn't take into account the current Apple vs ATI vs Glsl misery .. There is a working port for Nvidia users (just make a fresh wrapper in winery and it runs basically) .. but nothing for Amd so far

Ok I got it running in Cider .. the error persists though (and since the error window is modal I can't get past the Intro screen), seems to be a widespread error within the game (link: http://www.pcgamesn....vise-workaround ) -

It's apparently possible to bypass it by adding "-windowed" as a launch option .. but I've been unable to add exe flags in cider .. anybody know how to do this?

Bethesda is hopefully gonna release a fix, I'll keep trying in the meantime. Any support appreciated.

Just press Cmd + Enter to switch windowd mode.

Cider always requires FIRST full screen to launch game. Than you can switch windowd mode when it's running.

Dishonered runs on AMD if you use a AMD speed hack except it lags like hell , this makes  The game is virtually unplayable for AMD users in wine . The only way they might get performance is trough boot camp or cider . Sadly this is the story for most AMD users who want to play games on mac using vanilla wine . This is why i said Gaming on Mac osx with AMD is dead because AMD users cant just keep on using old engines all the time and not all games work with cider and amd speed hack . \

You cant use -windowed option in cider because cider cant draw out windows .

AMD is not dead for cider and native. Few of my friends can play them. They don't care about CrossOver and Wineskin... End of story.

to be clear, I've been running an AMD card for years and this is the first major game I've had issues of this kind with. many graphically-intense ports -- Skyrim, Fallout, etc -- have worked perfectly for me in Wine with no particular AMD fixes. so saying "gaming on mac with amd is practicly dead" isn't the most truthful statement.

I'll post if I have any luck with a cider port...

Adding -windowed doesnt solve it for me

tried adding
[AppDefaults\\Dishonored.exe\	ransgaming]
"cmdlineadd" = "-windowed"
in config file
(yes, I deleted the preferences folder before launch)

and

<key>CiderGameOptions</key>
<string>-- Dishonored.exe -windowed</string>

in Info.plist

still getting the error though

Cider don't accept windowd command for startup draw window. As hmtinc said.

Just press Cmd + Enter to switch temporary windowd mode when full screen is running.

I am clearly doing something really stupid. What exactly did you do? Are you on Mountain Lion?? Am i supposed to have some certain engine for wineskin??

http://imageshack.us...21013at334.png/

Edit: I don't know if i installed correctly, i just dragged the setup and stuff into the wrapper's C drive and stuff. Now when I open it, it opens, goes black then crashes

Edit: The wrapper is only for nvidia cards. I got an Intel HD 3000 and AMD Radeon. Will there ever be support for these?

Hey, I don't know about a wrapper supporting your graphics cards but you're doing it wrong for the install.
Just mount the Skidrow disc image and select the setup.exe in the mounted disc from the Wine installer, that should work :)

People if you running 10.8.2 . I think I have a fix for u people that keep on getting the black screen .
Download xquartz and install the latest version
Launch x quartz
While xquartz is open right click wine wrapper
Launch Wineskin.app
Go to advanced
Options tab
And select force system to use xquartz
Click test run to make sure it works (takes around 40 seconds to start)
If everything is ok the close everything and launch wrapper .

In this case it's not even wine or apple's shenanigans with amd & glsl .. bethesda simply optimized it poorly for ati/amd cards .. lots of players complain, guess a patch will take care of that soon ( http://www.vg247.com...-offers-advice/ )

  • First of all i never made a ATI/AMD port of my game because i dont have a AMD card and because AMD users said that even when you apply the fixes for AMD the game runs terbbly slow . Thats why i never actually put the effort into making a AMD port .
  • Second i still think wine gaming on AMD cards is dead because all the new engines have troubles playing games on AMD cards and all the old engines have troubles running most of todays games ,

Ofc you didn't get AMD/ATI to work; you yourself said you didn't feel like putting in any effort whereas Than actually takes time on things and found a blanket fix that gets all recent games to work on these cards.
USE THAN'S NEW ENGINE AND EVERY RECENT GAME THAT HASN'T WORKED...works now. This is why he >>>>>> you.

I have edited your post to be more respectful :D

You are Misinformed
These comments were before he posted the wrapper that worked on AMD/ATI.
Ofc you didn't get AMD/ATI to work; you yourself said you didn't have a AMD card to test the port on whereas Than actually started a thread and worked with Users with AMD cards and found a blanket fix that gets all recent games to work on these cards with some effectiveness .
USE THAN'S NEW ENGINE AND EVERY RECENT GAME THAT HASN'T WORKED...works now with some effectiveness ,
This is why we we have a community so people can help each other out and work out fixes .

response :
- I am defiantly not a idiot just mis informed because there wasn't any comments on the new updated port . Although it seems intel HD is still having troubles
- "This is why he >>>>>> you" I thought this was a community where people helped each other out and worked out fixes calling some better then another would be unfair because as a community we work out errors
- Than's FIX works but not to a degree in which it can be compared to performance on a nvidia counterpart
