I was not very happy when EA shut down my favorite facebook game, Restaurant City. Mirror's Edge... is my favorite list. I heard People said Mirror's Edge 2 has cancelled after EA rejected it. I was like wtf.

Btw, Why can't EA company die? They still always mass their games but THQ and LucasArt don't mass their games. They are dead. They are really GREAT video game companies! :-(

Lucas Arts has been terrible since like 1999..

WIth EA, commercialism with simplifying games and stupid DRM is my biggest concerns.

in the Origin agreement, it states that if you don't access your account for 3 years (*cough*college*cough*), they delete all the games you bought, and you have to re-purchase everything

http://www.ea.com/ne...e-can-do-better

Their new CEO has the balls to blame being the WORST company ever on... THE LBGT COMMUNITY!
"In the past year, we have received thousands of emails and postcards protesting against EA for allowing players to create LGBT characters in our games.  This week, we’re seeing posts on conservative web sites urging people to protest our LGBT policy by voting EA the Worst Company in America."
Forces people to use Origin. If I remember correctly, to play BF3 you HAVE to have Origin. 15 million people bought BF3 for PC so we can already cut that number to 30... Now lets add sales for some other games that REQUIRE Origin to play. Crysis 3 = 3 million PC gamers. So now on 27 million. Simcity 5 = 1.1 million so 25.9 million.  Anyone else want to add some numbers??
"Some claim there’s no room for Origin as a competitor to Steam.  45 million registered users are proving that wrong."

Ugh he is not blaming the LGBT community - EA is pro LGBT. What he is saying is that he feels some people just voted for them as worst game company because they are pro LGBT. Ie votes from people who are anti LGBT.

Speaking of many deaths - EA helped kill my beloved Dreamcast - by not developing for it. They wanted to do it it cheaply - and not allowing anyone else to develop sports titles - including Sega with their 2k series. Thanks EA....

I thought Visual Concepts (they are working with 2K) do develop two sport titles... Baseball and Basketball. I've seen NBA2K13 on Steam Store.

Yes they still have basekeball and baseball. Not NFL because EA signed a deal with the NFL to be the only company allowed to use NFL teams and pplayers names. They did this after NFL 2K5 - as they priced that at 19.99 while Madden was 49.99 (now 59.99).

So basically:

2K Sports is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. It comprises a single development studio, Visual Concepts, which was purchased from Sega in 2005.

However before the sale:

The NFL 2K series was introduced by Sega to address EA Sports's decision not to publish the Madden NFL series on the Dreamcast.

Around the time of the Dreamcast - Sega purchased Visual Concepts for 10 million dollars. EA said they would produce games but wanted to be the only company allowed to produce sports titles on the Dreamcast. Sega wanted to produce sports titles as they had just paid 10 million dollars for Visual Concepts. EA said too bad - and choose not to develop.

"[Former Electronic Arts CEO] Larry Probst is a dear friend of mine. Larry came to me and said, 'Bernie, we'll do Dreamcast games, but we want sports exclusivity.' I said, 'You want to be on the system with no other third-party sports games?' I looked at him and said, 'You know what? I'll do it, but there's one caveat here: I just bought a company called Visual Concepts for $10 million, so you'll have to compete with them.' Larry says, 'No, you can't even put them on the system.' I said 'Then Larry, you and I are not going to be partners on this system.'" -- Bernie Stolar - source

Also I should say EA helped to kill the dreamcast.  I would hazard a guess and say few people under 30 have one, and even fewer on these forums for that matter.  I love mine.

Aside from their magic formulae for killing some great games, I must say that i'm quite sorprised to see EA acting the way they are doing.

I thought that I would never see the day when EA refuses to publish their games to some system. I mean, if you think about it, they would publish CoD for microwaves if microwaves had screens...

But now they are refusing to publish FIFA and friends  for Wii U. =O

So the moral is. EA will never stop surprising us.
