EDIT: AMD seems to have a bug with AA.
So AMD users, run the benchmark without!
(Just set basic first, then change to custom and set AA to off)
I will try to adjust the values based on how similar NVidia scores wit those settings.

Why?
If you look around the web there are tons of benchmark lists available for windows, but as far as I know there are no reliable lists for mac around.
Even though the performance should be somewhat comparable between the same cards in Windows and Mac OSX, it's not always like that.
The Porting Team has a large user base, with everyone gaming focused, thus making this the perfect site to do something like this.
Hopefully this can be a list that could give people a clue how different cards compare to each other.

How?
There are not that many recent benchmarks that is actually worthwhile running. However there are some, like Unigine Heaven and Unigine Valley, and a few others.
We will start with Unigine Heaven, and if this is popular, I will add additional benchmarks to run, all with complete instructions.

-------------------------

The first test:
Unigine Heaven 4.0 will be the first test. This is a free cross platform benchmark which is regarded as perhaps the best free game benchmarks. It also support technologies like OpenGL 4.0 and DX11(on windows only).
Spoiler

Second test:
Unigine Valley 1.0

How to submit?
Check the next post, it will contain some unbeatable stats from my 2011 MacBook Air!

I like this idea but It is 10.8 only? So that is kinda crappy. Though Cluthz and Gameguy ran it on 10.7....apparantly....?

Try Unigine Heaven 3.0. It apparently supports 10.6.

4-way SLi GTX Titans (which doesn't work in OSX anyway..) to work.
Mac OSX 10.8.4 has full support for the titan(including full cuda support) , so technically the card will work . As for sli ,on OSX it wont do anything as osx doesn't support sli , But the cards would still boot up the system , its just that extra power wouldn't provide any extra benefits . But you would be able to benchmark the performance with one card .

That said does anyone on this forum even own a titan ?

We know that titan works already and why would anyone on here have a titan anyway? Not like anyone on here would benefit from owning a titan.

Yes, but Titan SLI does not. :D netkas.org posted Titan drivers a month ago. Anyways, download the bench and submit results! Maybe 9400M does run faster on 10.8? We still need a lot of data to be collected! The more the merrier!

So far I'm pretty impressed by the midrange kepler cards. I would not think a 650 desktop could beat a 285, and a 650M even come close!
Tomshardware ranks GTX285 (this is based on windows tests) between 675M and 670M and between 650Ti and 650, it shows that OSX has vastly improved drivers for newer cards!! However my GTX285 is showing some issues lately, but the 650 is almost on par with the 570, which would not be the case in Windows! Seems like apple is shaping up it's kepler drivers!

Also, keep the results coming! We still need lots of AMD results and Nvidia cards other than 650M. Still feel free to post more 650M results too!

I do believe some of the higher settings require 10.8, however you can run the 3.0 version which works on 10.6.8.
My experiences so far is that they are pretty similar, but if you do I will add a note to it explaining it was done with 3.0.
OSX 10.6.8 does only support OpenGL 2.x, where as Lion almost supports full 3.3 and ML supports full 3.3 as far as I know.

I'll give it a go on my mac, I'll try both 4.0 and 3.0 since 4.0 is claimed by waves to not be working on Snow Leo (Which I have).

I don't think the results will be good though :P

EDIT: On 4.0 it just opens and closes. On 3.0 I can run it, after I hit Run, it loads for a bit then returns me to the config screen.

Hmm could be a driver error?
Hopefully some other AMD 6xxx owners will give it a try.

It's strange because I can turn on anti-aliasing in 3D games like CoD4 and no problems.
The only other time I've seen graphic issues is sometimes Cover Scout does it too.

Everything else seems fine, but this demo triggers it every time.

This was a refurb directly from Apple, maybe it just took this long to notice an issue.

what was the temperature on your 9400m while running the benchmark ?
The temperature on my card reached 129 degrees and due to high temps my computer crashed twice before it finally worked .
129°C? Might be a broken sensor imo.
Crashing is not good tho, maybe you should remove some dust?

I think the temperature has to do with uenigine's inability to properly read my gpu temperature , do you know of any other software that can monitor gpu temperature because all the temp apps i can find just measure cpu temperatures .
Spoiler

Mine topped at 75*C like usual when I'm using the laptop.

Hmm I see many people complaining about AMD and wrappers not working here every day, still no one except one person have reported back here with results for AMD.
Also Intel HD4000, we need results!!

Cards I still need:

AMD:
ALL!!!!!

NVidia:
8600mGT
8800GS/GT130
8800GT
9600mGT
GT320M
GT330M
GT640M
GTX660M
GTX670m
GTX675MX
GTX680MX

Intel:
HD4000

It does not hurt posting results already posted too, as results may wary a bit from machine to machine.

I will test Intel HD 4000 until I fixed cpu cooler. Right now, I have problem with CPU heatsink and Thermal Compound. (I don't want let my cpu die.)

I'm not 100% sure If i wanna continue this, but I'll give it another try.
It seems most people doesn't really care about it, although it think it will be pretty useful info..

I'm posting another benchmark now, and I'll start editing the list to contain cards, and not users.
I will also merge reports so far.

Make sure use basic preset, not custom preset. (See table.)

Thanks a lot!
I'll get a few tests in NVidia with known results, to find out how different with no AA is
