Every time I open Deadpool I keep getting this error:

err:module:attach_process_dlls "wined3d.dll" failed to initialize, aborting

and subsequently:

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\Deadpool\\Binaries\\DP.exe" failed, status c0000005

I don't know how I would get this error because I installed d3dx9_43.dll and d3dx9.dll(s) correctly.
Any ideas?

Why would you install them? These are part of Wine.

If you want the native Microsoft DirectX binaries, you must install them, and then set an override to make Wine go for the native dlls instead of any builtin. You could try installing d3dx9 or d3dx9_43 using Winetricks in your wrapper, which downloads and installs and sets the override for you, and see if that makes your errors go away.

That is exactly what I did but still comes back with this error. All the d3dx9 dlls are overridden in native and I install them via winetricks.

Then something odd is happening because wined3d is maybe called in the wrong way? Have you tried to install all of DirectX this way, just as a test? If not, there might be a bug in Wine.

Then again, it isn't listed as having specific bugs in the appdb, and someone got it to run without problems on Linux. Are you using the Mac driver or the X11 driver? It may be worth to swap between the two and see what happens. Also, what wineskin and engine versions are you using?

I've tried through winetricks: directx9 and d3dx9_43, just directx9, d3dx9, d3dx9 and d3dx9_43. I'm running on Wrapper Version 2.5.10 Beta 4 ( and have also tried 2.5.9) and used engines 1.6-rc1x and 1.5.27 and havve sued both the mac driver and x11.
