GTA 4: Camera will wave around like a scared teenager in a horror movie.
Crysis Warhead: Guns will be shooting out chickens.
Far Cry 4: Lost of FOV controls.
Earthbound: Game will get harder and froze at final boss and deletes your save files.

lol...  Developers still do that stuff?... So it's not just only pirated Amiga games .. I guess disc protection is just not what they want.

Darkseed 2 is a Windows game though, not a dos game, and I do use VMWare Fusion on Mac, so which direction would you go? WHat advantage would Dosbox give me in this case?

any reason why wintricks is favorable over games that come with directx ?

The ones that come native with game usually come like that for a reason..

For eg.. under Windows XP SP3 despite it has DirectX 9c, NFSU fails because it needs particular dxd part of direct x installer it comes with..

Therefore wouldn't the game run better (i.e graphics artifacts etc intact) with native regardless weather being in a wrapper like winskin or not ?

eg  This works fine under Windows XP with "emulated" graphics driver, so m only conclution why it has artifacts under Winskin is because I "didn't"  install native direcx components.

Don’t waste your time with Wineskin for that game, you should be using dosbox

So separate dosbox ?
I was guessing since all my ported games are running successfully under Wineskin anyway,  I could add Darkseed II to this as well. If not natively in Wineskin, then perhaps run DosBox in wineskin running Windows XP, but then i fear too many things could go wrong... If needs be i'll just keep it separate.

i.e i could sound working is DosBox itself, so adding wineskin may be just causing more trouble, than it's worth.
