#99918 MAME Wrapper?

Posted Headrush69 on 29 November 2013 - 02:32 AM

Yes MAME was experimental, but works perfectly for every game I play.

SDLMAME has a built in GUI now that runs when you start the app without any parameters. Although not glamorous it works well.

No need to mess with terminal to make starting SDLMAME work.
Just use AppleScript Editor and make a application with a single line like this:
do shell script "cd /Applications/mame0150-64bit; ./mame64"

Now you can just double click that icon to start MAME.

#90239 What does the Infinity engine do?

Which version of .NET?
The newer the version of .NET, the less support there is for it in WINE.

Most of the patches to WINE fix things like graphic issues, input devices, etc.
AFAIK no patches exist that add major additions like improved .NET support or things of that magnitude, so any basic WINE engine should give you the same functionality.

Which one?
(Why I never liked the naming scheme)

Basically each one is the standard Wine version + patches for specific games/problems.
The thread for each one should list what patches it includes.

#88159 Linux,Ubuntu Section

Sounds like he's suggesting a section for Linux ports.

Not sure why, sure Linux users use Wine, but they don't use WineSkin, CXZ, etc and the WineHQ site is full of Linux based comments.
